Kanye West finally released this new album, “Jesus is King,” at noon Friday
It came after West’s big night in New York Thursday, as he appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” in Brooklyn and made a surprise visit to the World Trade Center transit hub in Lower Manhattan, filming a performance to the delight of fans in the Oculus, many of whom posted about the event on Twitter.
The 11-track gospel album features artists from rapper Ty Dolla $ign to jazz saxophonist Kenny G.
In some of his latest comments, the 42-year-old rapper recently told Apple Music Beats 1 that he urged collaborators “not to have premarital sex while they were working on the album,” The Guardian reported Thursday. Instead, he wanted the artists to “just work and focus on this … families who pray together stay together.”
“Jesus Is King,” which was originally titled “Yandhi,” is a long time coming.
Then, as Consequence of Sound reported, last year, West pushed it to two separate November 2018 release times.
